Join Bocas Water Sports and the Garden of Eden Bed and Breakfast for a week of diving and eco-adventure designed to renew your spirit and invigorate your mind.

These retreats are designed to help you improve your diving while enjoying the beautiful Caribbean waters of Bocas Del Toro.  Are you tired of jumping into the murky gravel pit or the high mountain lake for your open water dives then consider beautiful Bocas Del Toro.  We have long been a premiere surf destination but we also have great “WATER” below the waves! Bocas Del Toro boasts year around water temperatures of 82 degrees so you do not have to worry about that 3ml wet suite to do your diving comfortably.

We have great visibility and calm surface water during the time of year we schedule our retreats so we can get out to the DIVE sites that are off the “beaten path”

Oh and did we mention no cattle boats!   Our dive retreats are designed for small focused groups.  We only take 8 divers in a boat with a maximum of 16.

This is a great place for divers with spouses who do not dive.  Garden of Eden can set up daily activities for the non-diver or consider getting your certification while here.

 

Typical Bocas Dive Eco Retreat Day

Wake up to a Caribbean sunrise and yoga by the pool and after breakfast set out for the day to a great local dive site such as:

• Zapatillia Islands and Coral Caye
• The wreck
• The Gardens
• Tiger Rock
• If you are not a certified diver we offer certification courses during your stay

At the end of the day after diving some great sites that are only accessible a couple of months a year enjoy a glass of wine by the pool,  watch the Caribbean Sunset while eating a delicious dinner prepared by a local chef with fresh local ingredients and discuss the next day’s dive adventure.

Weekly dive schedule will be arranged based on weather and availability of guides.

Cost of Retreat:  $1,400 per person based on double occupancy

What is Included?

• Transportation from Bocas del Toro airport to Garden of Eden on arrival and departure
• 3 meals per day during Retreat (Dinner night of arrival.  Breakfast on day of departure)
• All water taxi transportation throughout the week
• 3 Open water dives daily and one night dive optional  during the week
• Day excursion on last (no fly) day.  May include chocolate and flora/fauna hike, beach excursion, caving or zip lines.
• Park and private property entrance fees
• Applicable taxes

What is not included?

• Air transportation to Panama City, Panama or San Jose, Costa Rica.
• Transportation from Panama City or San Jose to Bocas del Toro
• Alcoholic drinks
• Gratuities
• These retreats are small focused groups (maximum 12 participants) so discuss with your friends and travel groups and book early.

About Our Staff

Our staff has a combined total of over 50 years in hospitality and the Bocas Del Toro region.   Additionally we use local indigenous guides where appropriate for our tours who speak English and are knowledgeable about the region and the ecosystems you will be encountering.

About Our Food

All meals are prepared with fresh local ingredients and cooked in what we call a Caribbean-Bocas style.  While we can accommodate dietary restrictions we specialize in providing flavors and tastes that are found in the region and cultures that are represented in Bocas del Toro. Our meals are served family style and tend to focus on local caught fish and seafood but we do prepare chicken, pork, and beef dishes.

Cost of Retreat

$1,400 per person based on double occupancy
50% deposit due at time of booking.  Full payment will be due 30 days prior to the workshop. Deposit is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to workshop.  After 30 days the deposit will be refunded if your position can be rebooked.  We strongly recommend using travel insurance. Please be aware that you do not need to be an athlete to participate but you do need to be physically fit for the diving.  You will need to be able to get in out of boats in the surf – several locations we go to do not have docks, there may be hikes of 1 – 4 miles in hot/humid climates, since it is the rainforest there most likely will be some rain and mud to deal with, and of course we have insects.  It is the tropics!  Kayak trips require being on the water from 1-4 hours. We cannot accommodate any handicaps for these retreats.  Garden of Eden Bed and Breakfast is not handicap friendly.

Experience Bocas Dive Eco Retreat Schedule

Day One: Arrival into Bocas Del Toro and transport to The Garden of Eden, your base for the next 5 nights/ 6 days. Be greeted with welcome refreshments and your orientation for the week.

Days Two: Three & Four: Enjoy 3 Open Water Dives daily and 1 optional Night Dive, where you will get to experience the many beautiful local dive sites in the area.

Day Five: Being your last ‘No Fly’ day, you can enjoy a day excursion with park and private property entrance fees included.  Day excursions can include:

• Zapatilla turtle nesting park and Coral Caye snorkeling trip
• Guided kayak trips thru the mangrove bays looking for water birds, rays, skates, and other mangrove fauna.
• Natural Spring caves and rainforest hike
• Hike to Polo Beach or Long Beach
• Oreba cacao farm and chocolate tour
• Massage by the pool or in your room
• Red frog Zip line
• Visit a local indigenous village and rainforest hike

Day Six: Enjoy your last breakfast here at The Garden of Eden, followed by transportation back to Bocas Del Toro.
